Oscar Romero was Archbishop for only three years but during that time he went from being a figure of the establishment to champion of the poor and oppressed in El Salvador. He was eventually executed by a member of a death squad with state connections whilst celebrating Mass.

El notable actor de teatro, director, músico, compositor y fotógrafo porteño, ex militante del MIR, falleció repentinamente este lunes en Valparaíso.
Formado como actor en la Escuela de Teatro de la Universidad de Chile, Valparaíso, Toño fue un incansable y talentoso gestor cultural.
Su contribución también incluye los programas radiales Buenos Días Caracolito, Abracadabra y Verde Azul Verd.
Durante octubre y noviembre hizo una gira por Europa con su exposición de fotos “Rarezas Porteñas” y su recital de mitos y leyendas “Puerto Loco”, entre otras actividades con historia.

CHILE EARTHQUAKE APPEAL PUBLIC MEETING, Sheffield Monday 19 April 2010. 7:00pm at Quaker Meeting House.

On Saturday 27 February a magnitude 8.8 earthquake struck Chile caused significant loss of life and massive damage to buildings and key infrastructure. The resulting tsunami caused immense additional damage and loss of life in Chilean coastal settlements.
Belarmino has recently returned from Concepción, one of the cities most affected by the earthquake, where he and his family and friends experienced the full impact of the earthquake and its aftermath.
