This two-day event will bring together a range of organisations and campaigns from the region to explore and develop global-local alternatives for addressing social, political, environmental and economic problems. The event will include drafting a message for the G8 Summit (to be held in Toronto, June 26 /27).

The Chilean families, supported by all the Latin community in Leeds, would like you to book the Saturday 24th April for a special benefit night.
This is to raise money for the people of Chile affected by the devastating earthquake, and subsequent Tsunami, which struck the country on 27th February.

Mientras Miriam y yo viajábamos por la A1(M) en dirección a Newcastle conversábamos sobre cuántas veces habíamos hecho este mismo recorrido durante los 80, y las veces que Víctor, María y sus hijos visitaban Sheffield. El “viejo” siempre se perdía, a pesar de haber sido un chofer de micro en Chile, según el mismo, tenía una pésima orientación y odiaba las rotondas. El MIR en la Zona Norte de Inglaterra tenia un buen apoyo de diferentes sectores de la sociedad Inglesa y habia lanzado la creacion de los Frentes de Solidaridad por América Latina en las principales ciudades del Norte.
