La Asociación de Chilenos residentes en el norte de Inglaterra, Chile Scda, se une al inmenso dolor que embarga al pueblo venezolano, como también de Latinoamérica, por la dolorosa pérdida del compañero Comandante Hugo Chávez Frías.

Su legado, su visión, su consecuencia, su dignidad, su coraje, vive en cada uno de nosotros y su memoria y obra perdurará a través de nuestras futuras generaciones.

“So sad to hear of the death of Stanley Forman, communist film-maker and producer”, says Kate Hudson. “Stanley, who I worked with at his company ETV in the early 1990s, was a champion of film from eastern Europe and the Soviet Union, bringing the often-derided cultural output of those countries to life and enabling a real assessment of their achievements. Stanley was notable for the films he directed and produced on Chile, during the 1970s, including the celebrated Companero: Victor Jara of Chile. Stanley will be much missed”.

For left film culture in Britain, Stanley Forman, who has died at the age of 91, was the archive man. His company, ETV, held a unique library of  left-wing documentaries which amounted to the history of the twentieth century from a socialist perspective. Read the rest of this entry »
