Young Nicaraguan trade unionists leaders will talk about the current situation in the country.
Arely López and Emerson Silva Urbina, young trade unionists from the Nicaraguan Public Sector Union (UNE) will be attending the UNISON National Delegates Conference in Bournemouth 21 – 25 June. Arely is the secretary of the UNE young members section, a member of the National Workers Front (FNT) young members committee, a trade union leader at her work place.
In addition Arely represents UNE on the young members section of the Public Sector International (PSI) for Mexico, Central America, Panamá and the Dominican Republic. Emerson Silva Urbina is a lawyer and member of the Leonel Rugama youth movement of the UNE section representing local government workers in Managua. Both Arely and Emerson participated in a training programme for UNE young members funded by UNISON. In addition to attending UNISON conference, Arely and Emerson will also be speaking at the NSC AGM in London on 23 June, and at other events in Oxford, North Wales and West Midlands.
