Beyond the Frame will be touring the UK later this year  to raise awareness and proceeds for the Miami 5. The exhibition will include work by contemporary Cuban and British artists as well as artwork by two of the prisoners themselves.
This event, to support the touring of the exhibition, will be held in Manchester at
the Anthony Burgess Centre
Friday May 4th 2012
Artworks on display and for sale (all donated by the artists).
Speakers from the world of Cuban
Father Geoff Bottoms speaking on the Miami 5.

The main event will be in the evening at 7pm. It is a ticketed event (£5/£3) with drinks and a buffet. However the artwork will be on display from midday.
During the afternoon we are hoping to get groups – school groups, art classes, arts organisations – to come and see the exhibition, and talk with the visiting artists.

Organisers of this event are asking CSC supporters:
  • If they know of school groups, arts groups, organisations etc. who would be interested in coming to see the exhibition.
  • To publicise the event as much as possible. We want a good crowd for the evening event and of course we want to sell the artwork to raise money for the campaign. I have attached a press release we’re sending out & will email copies of our flyer later next week.
  • To volunteer help organising this event. If you have specific skills or contacts please let us know.
Bruce Rafeek, from the Manchester Cuban Solidarity Campaign,  says “We’re really excited to be putting on this event, and already branch members have put in a lot of work getting it to this stage. We want to make it a big a success as possible.
Please email MCSC csc.mcr@poptel.org with ideas, offers of help etc. Or phone: 0161 292 0956?
