Local filmmaker Jeni Vine’s latest short film will be debuting at this Saturday’s Climate Justice Conference, which is being held at St. Mary’s Community Centre, Bramall Lane.  The film will be shown at around 10:30am.

“Defending Mother Earth” explores what the Bolivian government, led by the first indigenous President Evo Morales, is doing about climate change, which threatens the land that the newly empowered indigenous communities rely on for their survival.

The screening is part of an exciting day of activities around the theme of Climate Justice.  As well as films, talks, workshops and good food, there are also lots of interesting activities for children and young people, including song-writing and African dancing; film-making; mask making; painting murals and drama.  (Please note that children need to be supervised.)
