This two-day event will bring together a range of organisations and campaigns from the region to explore and develop global-local alternatives for addressing social, political, environmental and economic problems. The event will include drafting a message for the G8 Summit (to be held in Toronto, June 26 /27).
The event aims to:
- Bring people together to analyse problems and develop alternative solutions
- Provide an opportunity for wider networking and action planning
- Take advantage of a beautiful location for a relaxed and enjoyable social gathering
The programme includes:
Opening ceremony with keynote speaker
Discussion groups on a range of themes: women, the environment, international labour rights, community, alternative models from Latin America
- Media skills workshops
- A healing space
- An outdoor fair with stalls and (educational) games
- World music and disco on Friday evening
- Drafting a communal message to the G8
- Action planning: What next?
- Closing ceremony

Cost: This is a FREE event, including buffet lunch on both days.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION, CHILDCARE and TRANSPORT can be provided – BUT, please ask in plenty of time to make sure there is a place for you.
